Shaped after the round-roofed bhunga homes of Kutch.

This is a bag our artisans build the slow way: the domed lid wet-formed over a block, then laced by hand around every edge with waxed cream thread. Nothing about it is machine-pressed.

The front panels carry hand-embroidered diamond motifs in tonal maroon silk thread, the same geometry Rabari women have stitched onto dowry textiles for generations. Above and below them, the leather is hand-tooled with a stepped border. The gussets are punched through with sunburst cutwork, and a wooden bead and leather tassel hang from the side ring.

Finished in oxblood aniline leather that will darken and gloss with use, with solid antique brass D-rings and buckles that age to a soft patina.

A note on handmade: slight variation in embroidery spacing, stitch length and dye depth is the signature of hand-work, not a flaw. No two are identical.

Care: wipe with a dry cloth; condition with a neutral leather balm two or three times a year. Keep out of prolonged direct sun.
