Mandala Tote — The Kutch Hand-Embroidered Leather Bag

Rs. 3,299.00
Size Variant

This is not just a bag. It is hours of a craftsperson's hands, moving needle and thread through leather in the lamplight of a Bhuj workshop.

The Mandala Tote is made entirely by hand by leather artisans of Kutch, Gujarat. Its most striking feature — two large hand-embroidered mandala medallions on the front panel — is worked using colourful thread in a traditional circular motif, echoing the geometric folk art of the region. Blue, green, yellow, and gold threads are woven through punched leather in a radiating pattern that takes a skilled artisan several hours to complete.

The bag itself is full-body tan leather, hand-cut and saddle-stitched with white thread throughout — a construction method that makes it durable enough for daily use while remaining entirely artisan-made. The structured silhouette sits neatly on the shoulder and is spacious enough to hold a laptop, books, or a day's worth of essentials.

✦ Handles: comfortable shoulder drop
✦ Closure: top zip
✦ Interior: roomy main compartment
✦ Materials: full-grain leather, hand-embroidery with coloured thread
✦ Care: wipe with dry cloth; condition leather every few months

Each mandala is hand-stitched individually — no two bags are identical. Slight variations in thread colour and pattern are the signature of genuine handcraft.
